Candy coated fingers anyone?

The first step of making Pralines, butter, sugar and cream, heat to 240 degrees. Step two, add Bourbon and toasted pecans.

Step three, drop by spoonfuls onto parchment paper and let cool.

No where in the directions did it say to push the candy off the spoon with your fingers!
I love you Chuck! I’m sorry your hurt.

A green Christmas

This year we decided that as part of living a healthier, more earth friendly life, we would use newspaper as gift wrap! I have been having a really great time trying to match articles with the gift recipient. I also think it is rather festive looking with the mix of articles about the holidays.
I’m thrilled with the way the kids are embracing this, too!
Oh! By the way, do you notice the wee socks and hats on our wee tree? Hehehe

Christmas is in the air

I am most excited to see how our family is all working hard to make home made items to give as gifts this year. Some of them are really getting into the spirit of it. I can’t wait to put the baskets together and showcase all their hard work. This is really making the holiday season great. Quality family time and self esteem boosters abound!
